32 posters by senior Icelandic Graphic Designer Goddur will be on display at the Beijing Design Week. The exhibition will take place in the L-Building on Power Square in the newly refurbished 751 D•Park, a former power plant that has been transformed into a vibrant cultural centre.

The colorful posters on display span 15 years of Goddur's career. The visual language in these posters reflect the heritage of Icelandic visual culture. Many of them have been published in books from international publishers on Visual culture like TASCHEN and DieGestalten in Berlin and Laurence King in London.

Goddur is a Professor of Graphic Design at the Iceland Academy of the Arts. He is also an active contributor in popular discourse in his home country often commenting on aesthetic issues such as visual literacy. Born in Akureyri in the north of Iceland, Goddur's career includes a number of pioneering projects in the field of advertisement, curation, art community development and academia. He graduated from Emily Carr College of Art & Design in Vancouver Canada in 1989 and he has studied under Dieter Roth and Hermann Nitch. He was among the first students of Graphic Design who learnt their trade on Apple Macintosh computers in the late 80's.

2011 Beijing Design Week & the First Beijing International Design Triennial is scheduled to take place in Beijing from September 26th to October 3rd. It is an initiative of the Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Education, the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and the Municipal Government of Beijing.

Goddur's exhibition is a cooperative project between Beijing Design Week, 751 D•Park and the Embassy of Iceland in Beijing.
