North Africa Days

A two-day international conference,  Nordic Africa Days, opened today, 18 October in Reykjavík. The conference is held by the Nordic Africa Institute and the University of Iceland, with support from the Icelandic International Development Agency and the Icelandic Foreign Ministry.

The conference will highlight Africa's multiple positions in a global world, looking simultaneously toward the past and the future, while asking about Africa's situation in the world today and the near future.

All lectures are open to the public and no registration is required. The conference is held in English only.

Eighteen panels will debate issues such as Humanitarianism and Child Poverty in Africa, Transnational Connections in Research on the African Diaspora in Europe , land conflicts in Northern Uganda, Communities and generations, art and agriculture.
