In addition to Japan, the Embassy also serves as the Embassy of Iceland to the Philippines, Indonesia, Singapore, South Korea and Timor Leste, as well as being Iceland's representation to the Assocation of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). The Embassy provides Icelandic citizens with various consular services, such as voting, translation of certificates and assistance in emergency situations, requiring official involvement.
The Embassy of Iceland in Tokyo was established in 2001.
