In addition to Uganda the Embassy in Kampala represents Iceland in Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya, Namibia, South Africa and Malawi, which is a key bilateral partner country. The Embassy is a Mission of Iceland to the African Union in Addis Ababa and the UNEP in Nairobi.

Unnur Orradóttir Ramette
Ambassador Unnur Orradóttir Ramette took up her position as Ambassador of Iceland to Uganda in August 2018.
Her former positions include having served as Director General of the External Trade and Economic Affairs Department at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, as Counsellor at the same Department and as Commercial Counsellor at the Embassy of Iceland in Paris.
She graduated with a MSc degree in International Management (DESCAF) from ESC Lille, France in 1993.
Unnur Orradóttir Ramette is married to Patrick Ramette and together they have two children.
The role of Icelandic Honorary Consuls abroad is to protect and further the interests of Iceland and Icelandic nationals as appropriate. One Honorary Consulate of Iceland can be found in the embassy's jurisdiction.
