Ambassador's Meeting with Mr. Zheng Huiyu, DDG

Today, Thorir Ibsen, Ambassador, met with Mr. Zheng Huiyu, DDG, Department of European Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China. Mr. Zheng has recently been assigned to cover, among other regions, the Nordic countries. The Ambassador and the DDG discussed several topics concerning the good and productive bilateral relationship between Iceland and China. These include, political and economic relations, consular affairs, protocol matters and issues concerning environmental and scientific collaboration. They also discussed and exchanged views on the situation in Europe as it pertains to the unprovoked invasion of Ukraine.

Also at the meeting today was William Freyr Huntingdon-Williams, DHoM, Embassy of Iceland, and Mr. Yang Xin, Deputy Division Director, and Ms. Peng Lai, Iceland Desk Officer, Department of European Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China.
