Embassy of Iceland in Freetown

Development cooperation between Iceland and Sierra Leone began in 2018 with Iceland‘s collaboration with the West African Regional Fisheries Project (WARFP), funded by the World Bank. In September 2023 the Ministry for Foreign Affairs deployed two diplomatic staff to Freetown to oversee the opening of an Embassy, which was formally opened in May 2024.
