About the Mission

The Permanent Mission of Iceland in Geneva opened on 1 March 1970 on the occasion of Iceland’s accession to the European Free Trade Association (EFTA). In February 2018 the Mission also became the Embassy of Iceland in Switzerland and Liechtenstein. The Permanent Mission represents Iceland at EFTA, the World Trade Organisation (WTO), the United Nations Office and agencies, as well as other international organisations located in Geneva.
