It is possible that the United Kingdom will leave the European Union and the EEA without a withdrawal agreement on 12 April 2019. UK citizens who have their domicile registered in Iceland will be guaranteed a continuous right to reside in Iceland after Brexit. This also applies to their relatives, who have registered their stay with Registers Iceland, and their unborn children. UK citizens are encouraged to make sure they are registered correctly with Registers Iceland as residents in Iceland.
