Iceland's Foreign Minister concerned regarding N-Korea's missile launch

Iceland’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ossur Skarphedinsson, has expressed his deep concern regardingNorth-Korea’s missile launch on 5 April. The launch took place despite UN Security Council Resolution 1718 which demands that North-Korea “not conduct any further nuclear test or launch of a ballistic missile”.

The Icelandic Foreign Minister fully supports calls from the international community that North-Korea respects its international commitments and engages in talks with other states to rebuild trust in security matters in Northeast-Asia. The Minister hopes that the six party talks will be resume, aiming to find a peaceful solution to security concerns as a result of the North Korean nuclear weapons program.
