Icelandic Foreign Minister meets with British and Dutch counterparts

Ossur Skarphedinsson, Minister for Foreign Affairs, met with his British and Dutch counterparts, David Miliband and Maxime Verhagen, on the margins of the United Nations General Assembly in New York last Friday. The Ministers discussed the status of the so-called Icesave issue, and Minister Skarphedinsson went through the precondititons set by the Icelandic Parliament for a state guarantee on Icesave-related loans.

The Foreign Minister briefed his colleagues on the Government's economic recovery programme, which was formulated in consultation with the IMF last fall, and stressed the importance of going ahead with the Programme review without any further delays.
