An open lecture were the main projects of the Nordic Welfare Watch will be presented, will be held at the Nordic house, Thursday September 17th from 12.00-13.15.

The Nordic Welfare Watch is a part of the Icelandic Presidency Programme 2014. It is a 3 year project which aims at promoting and strengthening the sustainability of Nordic welfare systems through cooperation, research and mutual exchange of the experience and knowledge acquired. The objective is also to develop solutions and coordinate actions to meet future challenges and to develop welfare indicators which can be useful for policy making.

The project is divided into a few separate projects that will be presented at the meeting.

Comparative research into welfare policy reactions to crises
Stefán Ólafsson, D.Phil. from Oxford University and Professor of Sociology, University of Iceland.

The great recession and economic well-being: Iceland in European context
Agnar Freyr Helgason
