Moscow Mechanism Report introduced at the 1288th OSCE Permanent Council on 5 November 2020.

Iceland urged authorities in Belarus to adhere to the fundamental principles of human rights, free election, freedom of assembly and free speech and media, in discussions at the OSCE Permanent Council on a Report under the Moscow Mechanism on Alleged Human Rights Violations in Belarus, compiled by Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Benedek of the Graz University. Ambassador Guðni Bragason called on Belarus to cooperate on the Report´s many recommendations,  including on the rights of the people in Belarus to freedom, fair judicial processes, guaranteeing access to the internet and halting impunity of perpetrators. Iceland is among 17 participating States of the OSCE invoking the Moscow Mechanism.
