Statements at the 44th session of the Human Rights Council

During each session Iceland delivers a number of statements on issues ranging from the human rights situation in individual countries to thematic issues. Those statements can be found below:

Interactive dialogue on the human rights situation in the Philippines

Panel discussion on the rights of the child in the context of the environment

Interactive dialogue with the High Commissioner on her annual report

Interactive dialogue on violence against children

Interactive dialogue on protection against violence and discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity

Interactive dialogue on extrajudicial executions

In the Human Rights Council Iceland also works closely with the Nordic countries, as well as the Baltic countries (so called NB8 group). Additionally Iceland is part of the so-called Mountains group which in addition to Iceland, Norway, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Australia, Canada and New Zealand belong to.
