The Ambassador of Iceland, Thorir Ibsen, along with his Chinese counterpart H.E. Ambassador Jin Zhijian, as well as the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Iceland and representatives of Jiangsu, witnessed the signing ceremony of a contract between Iceland´s Carbon Recycling International and China´s Jiangsu Sailboat Petrochemical Co. Ltd. The signing ceremony took place in Beijing, with participants in Iceland connected virtually.

The contract will see the two companies construct and the operate the new CO2 to Green Methanol plant in China.

The Embassy considers this to be a very positive step towards further cooperation between Iceland and China on mitigating carbon emissions and expanding technological innovation that will benefit all and promote a sustainable and green future.
