Ministry logos
The Government of Iceland uses the Icelandic coat of arms as its logo. It should always be treated with respect.
The logo should be used for all content published by the Government.
A vertical line separates the logo and the name. If the logo and name are separated, the line follows the name.
The logo is available in the following versions:
- Colour for print (CMYK, PDF files).
- Colour for print with silver (not for online publication).
- Colour for screens (RGB, PNG files).
- Monochrome line drawing in white (PDF files, transparent background).
Ministry names
The name of the Government of Iceland is always at the top of the logo, with the name of the ministry below. The Government of Iceland is written with a capital letter. Ministry names are written with a capital letter when they stand alone. Elsewhere, ministry names are written with a lowercase letter unless at the beginning of a sentence.

When the name of a ministry is written in a foreign language, it should follow the spelling conventions of the respective country.
When the name of a ministry needs to be written in both Icelandic and a foreign language, it should be written in Icelandic first, then the foreign language.
Space around the logo
Care should be taken to leave ample space around the Icelandic coat of arms.
There should always be space on all sides, ideally equal to the width of the Icelandic coat of arms, and never less than half of that width.
Below are examples of how to use the logo and how not to use it.
