Act on Vatnajökull National Park No 60/2007
The purpose of this Act is to conserve nature within the area of Vatnajökull National Park; give the public an opportunity to get to know and enjoy the nature and history of the area; advance research of the area, promote education about it and boost increased public understanding of the area’s natural resources and its uniqueness and; seek to support inhabited areas and economic activities in the area around the National Park.
