Ambassador Þórir Ibsen presents credentials to President of Hungary, Jánus Áder

Ambassador Ibsen presented his credentials to Jánus Áder, President of Hungary, as Iceland's ambassador to Hungary with residence in Reykjavík on November 5th 2018. On the occasion, the two discussed, among other things, climate issues, renewable energy and the future of the Arctic. Afterwards, Ambassador Ibsen had meetings with Hungarian officials regarding bilateral trade, particularly in the field of geothermal energy and EEA Grants, as well as discussing Icelandic medical students studying in Debrecen.

Icelandic companies in the geothermal energy sector have had operations in Hungary for some time. Ambassador Ibsen took the opportunity to visit the Budapest offices of Mannvit where he was greeted by Árni Magnússon.
