Iceland's Candidacy to UNESCO's Executive Board 2021-2025
Iceland has a long-standing commitment to multilateral cooperation and a strong vision for an active & effective UNESCO
We present Iceland's priorities for our 2021-2025 Executive Board candidacy, available in the six official languages of the United Nations.
Diplomatic Missions
Iceland has 26 diplomatic missions in 21 countries around the world. Furthermore, six Ambassadors are Reykjavík based, serving a number of countries and special policy areas.
In addition, Iceland has around 240 Honorary Consuls in over 90 countries.
What we do
The Ministry for Foreign Affairs safeguards the interests of Icelandic citizens, companies and consumers by facilitating access to international markets and strengthening free trade. The Ministry supports Icelandic firms abroad and promotes Icelandic arts and culture.
