Embassy's Jurisdiction
The Embassy represents Iceland vis-a-vis China, as well as Mongolia, Thailand and Vietnam. The Embassy's mission is to safeguard Icelandic interest and further develop good relations with the respective states.
There are Icelandic Consulates in Hong Kong, Mongolia, Vietnam and Thailand. Information about the consulates can be found below.
The Republic of Iceland and the People's Republic of China formally established diplomatic relations on 8 December 1971. The Embassy of Iceland in Beijing was opened in January 1995.

Diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Iceland were established on 25 May 1977. The Icelandic Embassy in Beijing, PRC, currently represents Iceland in diplomatic relations with Mongolia.
Visas to Iceland.
Citizens of Mongolia are required to have a visa when visiting Iceland. The German Embassy in Ulaanbaatar represents Iceland in visa matters in Mongolia. Applicants for visas to Iceland should therefore contact The German Embassy in Ulaanbaatar

Diplomatic Reations between Iceland and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam were established on 15 November 1996. Iceland has no diplomatic representation located in Vietnam, but the Icelandic Embassy in Beijing, PRC, fosters bilateral relations between the two countries.

Citizens of Vietnam are required to have a visa when visiting Iceland. The Royal Danish Embassy in Hanoi represents Iceland in visa matters. Applicants for visas should therefore contact the Danish Embassy in Hanoi.
