Arts and culture are thriving in Iceland and the creative industries have become a vibrant and growing sector of the Icelandic economy. Iceland, long known for it's exotic nature, is picking up as a cultural destination, thanks to its many international cultural festivals, the award-winning Harpa concert hall, rock-bands and the Icelandic sagas to mention only few reasons. The Consulate General promotes Icelandic arts and culture, participates in and supports initiatives by artists, institutions, festivals and others.
