Embassy Information

Iceland opened an Embassy in Moscow in 1944. The Embassy represents Iceland vis-a-vis the Russian Federation, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Moldova, the Republic of Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan.

2007-2014 Member of Alþingi, the Parliament of Iceland. Deputy Speaker 2009-2010 and 2012- 2013. Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee 2009-2013. Chairman of the Icelandic Delegation to the EFTA (European Free Trade Association) 2009-2013. Member of the Nordic Council 2011-2013, Chairman of the Nordic Council’s Committee for culture and education 2012. Co-chair of the Iceland-EU Joint Parliamentary Committee.
