Arts and culture is thriving in Iceland and the creative industries have become a vibrant and growing sector of the Icelandic economy. Iceland is enjoying deserved recognition as a cultural destination thanks to its many international cultural festivals and an abundance of creative talent. The Embassy's work reflects this development in many ways, as culture is an important and growing part of it. The Embassy promotes Icelandic arts and culture, participates in and supports initiatives by artists, organisations and festivals in many ways, e.g. by promoting events on social media and by hosting cultural events. The Embassy has no funds of it's own, its cultural work is financed by public funds of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Education and Culture. You will find information on various arts' organisations in Iceland below. You are also welcome to contact the Eyrun Hafsteinsdottir, cultural and trade officer on email eyrun[at]mfa.is for further information or services
The tip will be used to improve the quality of services and information on the website of the Cabinet. Feel free to contact if you need assistance.
